iMac Core Duo Out-of-Box Pictures

My first iMac Core Duo has arrived. I know there are many in the Mac community that have an obsession with these kinds of photogalleries, so I put one together.

I'll do benchmarks once my additional RAM arrives, assuming there's still a need for that. I would expect that many sites more thorough than my own are crafting in-depth benchmarks as I write this.

Oh, it does have a nice, familiar Mac style startup chime.

AH, lucky guy... what a beautiful machine! FedEx says mine will show up on Wednesday. I ordered almost the exact same system you did, but with 1Gb of RAM and the wireless KB/MM option.

Nice, I see your using that slideshow feature that Steve Jobs was showing off in the keynote. I agree with the first comment, you should let us know what happens if you put the xp boot disc in it.

    Have fun.

I tried the XP CD. None of the normal Mac startup keys work to make it boot from the XP CD (no surprise there).

The Boot Manager (hold-down option) looks really different, and more modern. It doesn't recognize the XP CD.

Of course, command-option-O-F doesn't work since Open Firmware is gone.

PC BIOS keys (delete, F12, esc) don't work. I tried all the F keys. I'll keep digging.

Am I seeing that correctly that the built-in iSight is also on the USB bus? Goodness, I wonder when that happened.

Any word yet on your DTK exchange?

Hey Mike... Many thanks for sharing your experience. I'm just wondering if you've got any updates? My unit is due to be delivered on Feb 3. Any problems to report? How's the speed?

The DTK unit arrived on Friday.

The speed on native apps is really impressive. Emulated apps run about the same as they do on my 1.25 GHz PowerBook G4.
