The Lee Equation

My friend Nathan Lee was contemplating the MacBook Pro vs. MacBook Air decision that so many of us are facing.  He came up with a handy equation that solves the issue perfectly.  I'm proud to introduce the world to the Lee Equation:

Z = D - L

D is the number of days in a month your MacBook would be on a desk.
L is the number of days in a month your MacBook will be on your lap.

If Z is a positive number, get the Pro
If Z is a negative number, get the Air.

    This is so smart as to make my brain ache with the simplicity.

    Does an airplane tray count as a desk or laptop? This equation overly simplifies it. There's no consideration for the frequency of travel, the need for optical media reading/writing, the need for dedicated graphics, or the need for more RAM. Even if you always use it on a desk, you have to consider how it got there and how often it travels to/from the desk. Even if you don't need 3D graphics, be aware that many 2D graphics programs now take advantage of dedicated graphics (core image processing).
