FROM THE DESK OF MIKE MCHARGUE

Hello friends,

Wisdom is one of the fruits of suffering. I have suffered much in life, and that first harvest of wisdom tasted so good that I had to share it with everyone. To that end, I wrote two bestselling books and created two podcast series with millions of listeners. My hope was to help ease the suffering of others.

My suffering increased as I did this. So, I took a step back and away from the public eye—a much-needed respite that allowed me time to heal. I found healing, but more than that, I found a second harvest of wisdom. This time, I am old enough to understand that wisdom is just for me. I will savor it.

But, I still believe in the power of story to help us understand ourselves, to gain wisdom, and ultimately act in ways that better the lot of all of humankind. It is in that spirit that I wish to tell you about my latest project.

After I left the public eye, I spent some time helping the largest entertainment companies in the world tell stories. In that time, I saw discussions I had in meetings with writers and producers turn into conversations that rippled across our entire culture. I learned that when I tell my truth in my story, some people learn what I have learned. But, when you tell a fictional story, people project their own hearts into your characters and interrogate their own lives through the themes you’ve offered them.

So, for two years I have been working with a dream team of creative dynamos, media wizards, and business wonks to create the most expansive project I have ever been a part of: the World of Vesser.

It’s an epic stage for telling interconnected stories in a single continuity. These stories are designed to work together across the entire landscape of media: from games, to film/television, to YouTube, to whatever someone is inventing in their garage right now.

Most important of all: the setting is designed for you to make your mark on it by creating your own character and telling your own story right along the stories told by novelists, screenwriters, and visual artists alike.

We’re not quite ready to launch these projects yet—that will happen soon enough. But we are ready to invite you on the journey with us, my dear friends, as we chart a new way of telling stories together, at a scale that has never been done before.

When you are ready, please consider:

  1. Joining our email list on our website, worldofvesser.com;

  2. Listening to our podcast, Building Vesser;

  3. Following the project via Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok.

Let’s build together.

Peace, love, entropy,
Mike McHargue
